COVID-19 measures

The coronavirus (COVID-19) measures may affect your visit to West Zeelandic Flanders. Last updated: 30 March 2021.
All cafes and restaurants will be closed until at least 20 April, though takeaway is allowed. The rules also apply to cafes and restaurants in hotels (for hotel guests). Cafés and restaurants in other buildings, such as museums, are also closed.
From 3 March, all shops will be open by appointment only, except for essential retail focused on basic necessities. Stores may deliver orders to the customer's home. Pick up is allowed at all stores.
The following applies for essential stores:
All shops will be closed from 20:00, with the exception of shops that predominantly sell foodstuffs. The sale or delivery of alcohol is prohibited between 20:00 and 06:00. Supermarkets have special opening hours for the elderly and people with frail health.
Until at least 20 April, all entertainment establishments such as theatres, museums, concert halls, cinemas, casinos, zoos, amusement parks are closed.
  • Stay at your holiday address as much as possible.
  • Avoid crowds; travel to your destination outside of rush hour. Travel as little as possible locally.
  • As a traveller in your own country, abide by all the basic rules. If you have coronavirus symptoms, stay at home and call 0800 1202 to get tested for coronavirus.
The relaxation of the coronavirus measures is only possible if we all abide by the basic rules. Only together can we ensure that the measures become more flexible. Please follow the guidelines below:
  • Stay 1.5 m from others.
  • Avoid crowded places.
  • If a certain place is crowded, go somewhere else.
  • If you have a cold, stay home.
  • If you have a fever or flu-like symptoms, everyone in your household must stay home too.
